Aussie coach will take charge of England’s Ashes series against New Zealand
Former Australia coach Darren Lehmann has been named as Australia’s new coach to lead the Ashes series, after the series between England and New Zealand was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision to move the series back into England has been taken by Cricket Australia following a meeting between the two boards on Tuesday night.
“I am extremely honoured to have this opportunity to take the Ashes home, and it is truly an honour to be named to lead Australia against New England in England,” Lehmann said.
“This series is one of the great achievements of the game and I am thrilled to be part of this great team, led by the brilliant Darren Lehman, that is destined to take this great challenge to New Zealand in a matter of weeks.”AAP/ABC
